During the last four years, CFAAP has taken a number of initiatives to promote high standards of professionalism and ethics in the financial sector. One of those initiatives is the Annual Excellence Awards Program. For the fourth consecutive year, CFAAP organized the Annual Excellence Awards and the Charter Award ceremony. It would be worthwhile to mention here that CFAAP won the Innovation Award for 2006 from CFA Institute because of its Excellence Awards Program. The local event was organized to recognize those people and institutions that are dedicated to providing value-added research and brokerage services to the investing public in Pakistan, and to honour those individuals who, after more than three years of study, have earned the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation.
The function was arranged at The Marriott Hotel, Karachi and Mr. Khalid Ghayur, CFA, (Chairman Index Policy Committee of Morgan Stanley and ex-Governor of CFA Institute) was the Chief Guest and Key Note Speaker at the occasion.
KASB was awarded the ‘Corporate Finance Transaction of the Year 2005-2006’ Award, while the ‘Corporate Finance House of the Year 2005-2006’ Award was conferred upon Allied Bank; AKD was awarded ‘Best Equity Brokerage House’; while Mr. Murad Ansari (KASB) was declared ‘Best Equity Research Analyst’. A new award has been introduced this year which is given to the corporate issuer which demonstrates the highest standards in corporate disclosures, investor facilitation, etc. This award was won by Engro Chemical Pakistan Limited.
