About the Current Global Financial Crisis

If there is one lesson to be learned from the current global financial crisis, it is that markets are based on widespread trust. Lending, investing, and the notion of money itself are built on this foundation. Perhaps it takes a significant crisis to remind us that "the system" comprises individuals who make choices that affect the lives of countless other individuals. This responsibility - the trust bestowed upon us as investment professionals - informs the core of the CFA Institute organizational mission: to set the highest standards in ethics, education, and professional excellence.
