CFA Society of the Cayman Islands President, Arthur Dzaghgouni,
CFA, and Public Awareness Chair Gareth Pulman presented the
materials to Shirley Wahler, chief education officer; Christen
Suckoo, deputy chief officer for the Ministry of Education; and
Juliet Lawson, librarian at the George Town Public Library.
The curriculum materials span all three levels of the study
programme and will be placed in the Reference Section of the
library. The CFA Program is a graduate–level self–study programme
for investment professionals. First proposed by eminent economist
and investor Benjamin Graham in 1942, it has been ranked by The
Economist magazine as the gold standard among investment analysis
designations.
“I spent a good deal of time studying for my examinations at The
George Town Library seven years ago and I am pleased that our
Society is able to support the Reference Section in this manner,”
said Mr. Dzaghgouni. “I hope that moving forward we are able to
donate curriculum materials on an annual basis.”
Ms Lawson commented, “We are very pleased to accept this generous
donation. The collection will undoubtedly be a prime information
source for students as well as professionals in the finance
field.”
Mrs. Wahler added that “this gesture represents a significant
move towards establishing strategic partnerships between the Public
Library and the business community. This will not only benefit
individuals, but also strengthen community capacity and ultimately
address urgent issues related to economic development within the
Cayman Islands”. |
