UTIMCO seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Hedge Fund Associate. The Associate will work closely with a Managing Director, monitoring current investments, evaluating potential opportunities, executing projects pertaining to a Marketable Alternatives hedge fund program, managing a portfolio of hedge fund manager relationships, sourcing and assessing new investment opportunities, and leading a comprehensive due diligence process. The Associate will also assist with asset allocation and portfolio evaluation, negotiate investment terms with new and existing managers, prepare standard and ad hoc reports and presentations to facilitate communication and transparency with the Board of Directors and other eternal entities, as well as manage work streams and deliverables of junior-level team members and interns.

The qualified candidate should have an MBA from a leading institution and/or a CFA designation and 3-5 years relevant experience in finance or an investment-related field. Experience in investment banking is a plus. Candidate should have exceptional quantitative skills and should be well-versed in Microsoft Excel and other financial applications should have strong, proven communication and organizational skills, and a good attitude. Wanted: Qualifed professional to teach an investments course for The University of Texas' Certified Financial Planning Certificate Program. The summer course runs from June 29th, 2007 to September 21st, 2007. There will be 15 to 30 students.

The curriculum is already developed and there is a good test bank to draw from for the mid-term and final exams. The course lasts 12 weeks (one class each week from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm), but there are actually only 10 nights of lecture as the students will be taking their exams on 2 days - which can be proctored.

Senior Financial Analyst reporting to Chief Financial Officer, Whole Foods Market, Inc.

Assist and advise Chief Financial Officer on special projects

Work closely with and provide analytical support to Vice President of Investor Relations; back-fill as needed

Provide complete analysis of financial results to executive team for quarterly earnings releases

Prepare executive reports for Board meetings

Maintain long-term financial projections

Maintain credit relationships with banks, monitor borrowings, evaluate banking proposals; maintain relationships with credit rating agencies

Write and produce quarterly publications distributed to WFM’s 44,000+ Team Members

Evaluate capital strategies, including options for debt, equity, cash management, derivatives, etc.

Evaluate proposals for and track senior leadership compensation

Update Part 1 of company’s Form 10-K annually

Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis

 

Must Have/Be:

 

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; Masters degree or MBA a plus

5-10+ years of related financial analysis experience

CFA or CPA preferred

Solid background in finance and investments; buy-side or sell-side experience desirable

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proactive, independent thinker, self-motivated

Ability to multi-task and work effectively under deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Highly detail oriented

Ability to effectively communicate with Team Members and Team Leaders in all departments, including members of senior management

Passion for WFM’s mission and core values

Experience with Outlooksoft, Essbase, Hyperion and Peoplesoft a plus

The Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) has selected EFL Associates, a national retained executive search firm, to manage the System’s search for a Senior Portfolio Manager – Private Equity.  This is a new position.

 

Texas ERS has assets of $23B, $1.6 billion of which will be invested in private equity.  The Senior Portfolio Manager – Private Equity will manage the private equity program and function as team leader for private equity staff.  This is essentially a new asset class for ERS, and the position offers the opportunity to develop a private equity program from the ground up.

 

ERS is looking for investment professionals with experience managing a private equity program through external investment managers.  (Individuals who have experience only in direct private equity investments will not be considered.)

The compensation package includes a base salary plus an incentive of up to 25%.
